The Swan Valley Stampeders reduced their magic number for clinching second place to six after they edged the OCN Blizzard 4-3 in overtime Wednesday night.
Shelby Gray provided the heroics with a rocket of a shot over the shoulder of OCN netminder David Aime early in the four-on-four overtime.
Brad McDonald and Chris Reimer with a pair also scored for the home team. Jayme Janzen made 38 saves to earn the win.
The Stampeders will attempt to inch one step closer to home-ice advantage in the first round with a win in Waywayseecappo Saturday night. The Wolverines are red hot of late, and edged the Stampeders 4-3 on Tuesday after jumping out to an early 3-0 lead. The Stampeders should have all the motivation they need for this game.
